Endings

𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬...

Recently, we sold the home which was my son’s first. His first smile, first laugh, first steps & first word were all in this home. Understandably, the house sale becoming official has left me with some strong feelings and got me thinking about 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬.

Endings are often accompanied with a mix of emotions;
• Uncertainty - the fear of what lies ahead can be overwhelming.
• Loss - fear of losing what we have makes endings even more difficult.
• Change - endings signify change, which can be uncomfortable & challenging.
• Regret - feeling like we could have done things differently.

Remember. There are no right or wrong feelings when dealing with endings. The way in which we work through endings is different for everyone, but below are some suggestions;

- Ritual - doing something to acknowledge the ending.
- Gratitude - think about what you are grateful for from this part of your life.
- Journalling - Writing gives us space to process.
- Talking - allows us to consider how we are feeling and thinking.
