Our brains are creatures of habit. Thinking is time consuming, so a routine can conserve energy and minimise risk.
Routines may not seem like much fun, but, creating a consistent, calming bedtime routine not only improves sleep but can boost out mood, reduce stress and help with anxiety.
Taking a warm bath, drinking herbal tea (or a good cup of Yorkshire tea if you're northern like me!), using a face mask and reading are all activities we can include in our bedtime routines. Gratitude is also found to help with sleep.
Feeling grateful helps us to sleep better and longer. What would you include in your bedtime routine?
