Grief

A week ago, I lost someone who was incredibly important to me. Although this loss was inevitable, that has not made it any easier.

When we lose someone close to us, everything can change in an instant. We all grieve & cope differently, making it a unique experience. And as Lois Tonkin suggests, grief doesn’t ever go away; 𝐰𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭.

As everyone’s grief is different, so is their path to healing. What helped someone else through the process might not help you, but below are some tips which you might find useful;

• Nap - grief is exhausting.
• Make time for activities which are relaxing, such as a bath.
• Allow space for your emotions.
• Get fresh air
• Talk to your support network/ GP / Counsellor/ Support groups.
• Say no if you need too
• Eat good food.
• Breathe.

Coping with loss is one of life’s biggest challenges, so remember to 𝐛𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. ❤️
